Poetry

Had fun at the Silver Center in downtown Plymouth with my Creative Writing class! We looked at Donald Hall's poetry and somebody's photography and wrote some poetry. Here are the two that I did:

Summer Day
The soft kiss of Summer's breeze,
Softens even the hardest of faces.
Cars moving in opposite direction,
Though headed to different destination.
Busy as she writes upon a grassy slope
Watching the cars go by
Drivers not caring about anything
But their own plans
As they go on about their busy, breezy
Summer Day.
Pigeons
Pigeons hunting vigorously
Watching, waiting for passersby
Kind enough to give them seeds
As the kind old woman
On the park bench
In the center of a city troubled
Loves from within her heart.
Now the birds fly aimlessly away
As bullying children chase them
Just for the fun of things
Not realizing what harm has come
To pigeons hunting vigorously.
